Hot start for Saugus girls volleyball

The Saugus girls volleyball team is off to a 10-0 start, including winning the Tri-City tournament on Saturday.
The team is ranked No. 8 in the CIF Southern Section Div. I-A poll and downed Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks in three games on Wednesday night for its 10th straight win to start the season.
Saugus defeated Walnut in three games in the championship match of the Tri-City tournament on Saturday. Saugus also beat Immaculate Heart, Alverno, West Covina and Gabrielino in the tournament.
Senior outside hitter Katie Estes won the tournament MVP. She had 24 kills in the championship match against Walnut and 99 kills in five matches in the tournament. Freshman Jaclyn Clark had 19 kills in the match against Walnut.
Saugus hosts Chaminade on Wednesday night before heading to the Kennedy-La Palma tournament in Orange County on Oct. 4.
