HS BASE: Valencia's Lopes helps Team USA to Gold medal (16 under) in Pan Am Games

Valencia sophomore Christian Lopes represented himself well for Team USA in the Pan Am Games in Veracruz, Mexico, batting .367 (11 for 30) with one home run, 10 runs and nine RBIs as the Americans finished 8-0, including a 7-3 victory Sunday over host Mexico before a crowd of 3,200 in the championship game.

Lopes played every inning of every game, starting in left field and batting sixth.

At Valencia, Lopes hit 10 home runs and started at shortstop as a freshman.
