HS FOOT: Oaks' Jones offered by Oregon

| | Comments (0) |

It hasn't hit the Net yet, but Oaks Christian junior running back Malcolm Jones have been offerred a scholarship by Oregon.

"It's official. We just got the offer today," Oaks Christian coach Bill Redell said.

This is Jones' second Pac-10 offer, with Stanford being the first. His brother, Marshall, is a USC defensive back.

Speaking of Oaks Christian running backs, former star Marc Tyler scored his first touchdown for USC on Saturday on a 10-yard run in 52-7 opening victory over Virginia. And even though Tyler was the last of six USC tailbacks to show his face, Redell believes Tyler eventually will assert himself and move up.

"I think as the season goes, Marc is going to be right there. He looks very good," Redell said. "There are a lot good running backs there, but none of them are better than Marc Tyler.:
