Royal cross country

Travis Edwards, the top runner from the Royal of Simi Valley cross country team, is recovering from an iliotibial band injury in his knee and might not run with the team this year.
Edwards can begin running next week, Royal coach Ryan Luce said, but his recovery will be slow. Barring any setbacks, Edwards could return to racing by the end of the year.
"Right now, he might not come back," Luce said.
Luce described the injury as a running injury at the knee, but it affects his entire upper leg.
Sophomore Sean Upson and junior Korey Yoakum are expected to be the team's top two runners with Edwards out.
"I'm kind of curious to see how we do in our first race," Luce said.
