A recap of the day in Marmonte League boys' cross country

No surprises in the Marmonte League boys' cross country ranks Tuesday, as Thousand Oaks followed its stellar performance Saturday at the Pepperdine Invitational with a strong effort against Simi Valley and Newbury Park at Cal Lutheran.

The Lancers -- ranked No. 3 in the state in Div. II -- showcased tremendous depth in defeating Simi Valley 18-37 and Newbury Park 16-40, with Andrew Snyder, Sean Gildea, Kevin Joerger and Asher Lober all finishing within two seconds of each other, Snyder prevailing in 17:02.

Westlake defeated Calabasas 19-44, with Garrett Drogosch recording the victory for the Warriors in 16:05.

Royal recorded a 17-42 victory over Agoura and swept the top five spots -- Paul Jesson (16:30), Korey Joakum (16:40), Sean Davidson (16:59), Sean Upson (17:19) and Christian Garza (17:21) -- against Moorpark in a 15-50 win. Agoura got past Moorpark 15-47.
