Boys and Girls Basketball: News at Calabasas

| | Comments (0) |

Two items from Calabasas High.

Dave Goosen has been named girls basketball coach.

Goosen has coached boys teams at Venice, Burbank and Reseda.

This will be his first stint coaching girls.

Goosen inherits a program that has not fared well the last several years. The Coyotes were 0-14 in Marmonte league play last season.

The boys program received good news as Jordan Coleman has transferred from Granada Hills.

Coleman was a standout for the Highlanders on the JV team as a tenth-grader but is expected to crack the starting line-up for Calabasas.

Granada Hills coach Don Loperena was unhappy to see his budding star leave but wishes Coleman the best.

"He moved in with his dad, who got custody this summer. It's all legit. Jordan is a super athlete and would have been a centerpiece for us."
