Boys basketball: Mission Prep Christmas Tournament has loaded field highlighted by three area teams

The Mission Prep Christmas Classic boys basketball tournament is annually one of the best early-season tournaments in the country.

Top teams from throughout the nation are invited and the 2008 version is no slouch.

Taft of Woodland Hills, Campbell Hall of North Hollywood and Sylmar are three area teams participating.

Taft will feature UNLV-bound Justin Hawkins, Campbell Hall has Colorado-bound Keegan Hornbuckle and Sylmar's Tyler Honeycutt is headed to UCLA. Also, Los Osos of Rancho Cucamonga features kendall Williams, a junior guard already committed to UCLA.

Here is the field, which has two divisions.

3. Sheldon (Sacramento, CA)
4. Los Osos (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)
5. Kentwood (Kentwood, WA)
6. Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, VA)
7. Marshall (Chicago, IL)
8. Sylmar (Sylmar, CA)

Elite Division
1. Mission Hills (San Marcos, CA)
2. Bishop Montgomery (Torrance, CA)
3. Rio Americano (Sacramento, CA)
4. Campolindo (Moraga, CA)
5. Fremont (Los Angeles, CA)
6. El Dorado (Las Vegas, NV)
7. St. Joseph (Santa Maria, CA)
8. Mission Prep (San Luis Obispo, CA)
