Following a victory Saturday at the Staub/Barnes Invitational at Crescenta Valley Park, Crescenta Valley senior Zack Torres remained the top-ranked runner in the state according to the Dyestatcal.com individual rankings compiled by editor Rich Gonzalez.

Torres took second Sept. 20 in the boys' sweepstakes race at the Woodbridge Classic and has since followed that performance with victories at the first Pacific League meet Sept. 23 and again Saturday on his home course.

Lancaster's Pedro Zaragoza is fifth in Div. I.

After strong performances Saturday, Camarillo sophomore Heyden Wooff and Saugus junior Alec Nelson are ranked fifth and sixth in the Div. II state rankings, with Loyola of Los Angeles' Elias Gedyon still holding on to the top spot.

Wooff and Nelson finished second and third behind Torres at the Staub/Barnes meet.

Oak Park's James Goldstein is No. 6 in Div. III and Oaks Christian of Westlake Village's Charlie Petrie is sixth in Div. IV. The duo placed first and second at Thursday's Tri-Valley League meet at Malibu High.

Flintridge Prep of La Canada Flintridge's Paul Weitekamp is No. 9 in Div. V.
