BIG NIGHT FOR SAUGUS

Saugus defeated host Valencia 31-24 on Friday to clinch the Foothill League championship - the first league title in 27 years for the Centurions since winning the Golden League championship in 1981.

Naturally, coach Jason Bornn was showered with Gatorade after the game, as Saugus fans stormed the field and celebrated like it was the Super Bowl.

"I didn't like the Gatorade much. I would have rather it had been water because Gatorade gets all sticky," Bornn said. "I ruined a pair of shoes, but it was worth it."
