HS FOOT: Oaks Christian's Jones out 2-3 weeks

| | Comments (0) |

Malcolm Jones, a star running back and linebacker who has scored 27 touchdowns for Oaks Christian of Westlake Village, is scheduled to miss two to three weeks after separating his shoulder Friday in a 49-6 victory over Santa Clara.

"It's disappointing," Jones said. "The doctor told me it's a grade-three separation from where the bone connects."

Jones, a 6-foot, 215-pound junior, was injured late in the third quarter after totaling 156 yards on 10 carries and two receptions for 67 yards. He scored on runs of 60 and 50 yards and a 48-yard reception - all in the first half as Oaks Christian built a 22-point lead. Jones was also in on about 10 tackles.

Jordan Morrison is slated to replace Jones at running back.

"I think it actually hurts us more defensively than offensively," Oaks Christian coach Bill Redell said. "Jordan is a talented guy. We have to keep winning until we get Malcolm back."
