Girls Hoops: Chatsworth loses

In a mild-upset, Bell-Jeff of Burbank defeated Chatsworth, 61-58, in a quarterfinal game in the Inglewood tournament.

Margeaux Gupilan scored 25 points to lead the Guards. Shelley Gupilan added 15 points and eight rebounds.

Chatsworth's Cal-bound forward Gennifer Brandon finished with 16 points but only had four at halftime.

Monica Jackson scored 28 points including 20 in the first half for the Chancellors.

Bell-Jeff will play Inglewood in one semifinal Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hangar Athletic Exchange in El Segundo.

Bell-Jeff will then meet up with either nationally-ranked Long Beach Poly or Marlborough of Los Angeles later in the day.
