Local wrestling results from over the weekend

In tournaments over the weekend, several local wrestlers performed well.

Sergio Perez (160) and Johnny Fernandez (HVY), both of Birmingham, both went 5-0 in a Duals Tournament at Chaminade High School, where the host Eagles also had two 5-0 finishers - Craig Seidenglanz (competing at 130) and Adam Moreno (112-119).

The Thousand Oaks team split, where some of the team went to the Chaminade Duals Tournament - J.T. Lawson was the highest finisher at 189 pounds and went 4-1 -and others went to the Nogales Tournament. Behdod Katebian (125) placed third at Nogales, Ben Comfort (130) finished 8th, Eric Lawson (160) 8th, Johnny Herrera 8th at 171, Brandon Jansen 2nd at 189, Kevin Tran (112) finished 5th and Ethan Clifford (145) placed 8th.

Gary Espinosa of Alemany - who face Chaminade in a dual meet on Tuesday - finished third in his 135 weight class in the same Nogales tournament as did Agoura's Ben Wolhaupter (3rd at 140), John Combs (1st place at 160) and Joey Skinner, who finished 5th in the 145 pound class.

Another team that wrestled at Nogales was Moorpark, which had Collin Bradwell place 3rd at 145 pounds,.
