HS FOOT: Grace Brethren's Leffler rebounds from ankle injury

| | Comments (0) |

Ankle injuries often can linger, but the good news at Grace Brethren in Simi Valley is quarterback Max Leffler, who badly twisted his ankle in the second football game of the season, has recovered quickly.

Leffler was supposed to miss three games but was back after one week, returning Friday in a 22-9 victory over Carpinteria in which he passed for 293 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a team-high 53 yards.

"Max came back faster than expected and got a lot of help from our trainer, Norma Skinner," coach Terry Gourley said. "He was still limping around and was only about 90 percent, but that was good enough. I hope he is going to be 100 percent this week against Frazier Mountain because we need him because they're undefeated."
