HS FOOT: Granada Hills will be on the run

| | Comments (0) |

Billy Parra, the new coach at Granada Hills, was an all-league receiver back in the day at Kennedy in 1988, but now that he is a head coach, he plans to run the football as much as possible.

That's because Parra is playing to the Highlanders' strengths, as three of its top players are running backs -- Oscar Ortiz, Daniel Aslan and Jon Powell -- and top lineman Steven Oviedo returns, too.

"Steven is doing great at right tackle. He had a great summer and he should have an awesome senior year if he stays healthy," Parra said.

Last year, Granada Hills was 1-9, including nine consecutive losses to finish the season.

The Highlanders open Friday at Calabasas.
