HS FOOT: Another top quarterback at Valencia

| | Comments (0) |

Valencia's Alex Bishop is doing a great impression of former Vikings' star Michael Herrick, who graduated in 2006 as California's all-time career passing yardage leader.

Bishop has completed 76.3 percent of his passes (58 of 76) for 1,005 yards and 14 touchdowns, as the point-a-minute Vikings (4-0) are averaging 48.2 points heading into a nonleague showdown against Loyola of L.A. on Saturday at 7 p.m. at L.A.
Valley College.

Another quarterback off to a great start is Chris Navarro, a returning St. Genevieve of Panorama City standout who has passed for 550 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 710 yards and 16 touchdowns to help the Valiants (5-0) to their best start since 1970 heading into a nonleague game Saturday at 7 p.m. against Frazier Mountain (4-0).

Navarro is being recruited by Sacramento State, Columbia, Dartmouth and New Hampshire, as St. Genevieve has climbed to No. 3 in the Northeast rankings.
