| | Comments (0) |

Malcolm Jones, a top running back for Oaks Christian of Westlake Village, has a good chance to surpass 6,000 yards rushing and 100 touchdowns for his career. With six regular-season games remaining, Jones has rushed for 4,674 yards and scored 79 touchdowns.

According to the Cal-Hi Sports record book, the five locals to surpass 6,000 yards rushing are Paraclete's Curtis Brown (7,025 yards, 1998-2001), Valencia's Manuel White (6,745 yards, 1997-99), Grace Brethren's Chad Kackert (6,734 yards, 2002-04), Birmingham's Milton Knox (6,695 yards, 2004-07) and Notre Dame's Justin Fargas (6,352 yards, 1995-97).

Only three locals have totaled more than 100 touchdowns: Kackert (131 touchdowns), Oaks Christian's Marc Tyler (122 touchdowns, 2003-06) and Knox (103).
