| | Comments (0) |

Notre Dame is leading Chaminade 14-3 at the half.

Notre Dame scored on its first two drives to take a quick 14-0 lead.

On the opening series, the Knights drove 80 yards on eight plays, scoring on Ryan Kasdorf's 3-yard run. The key plays on the drive included Kasdorf's 21-yard run, Kenny Boggs' four carries for 37 yards and a 22-yard pass from Kasdorf to Tyler Thomas to the 3.

The next time Notre Dame got the ball, the Knights again drove 80 yards, this time with a time-consuming 14-play series that consumed more than seven minutes. Kasdorf completed four passes for 37 yards, and Jacob Smith scored on a 4-yard run.

Chaminade's Matt Goudis kicked a 42-yard field goal in the second quarter, his sixth of the season and 20th of his career. Earlier, the junior was just short on a 55-yarder when the snap bounced. Goudis also had punts of 48 and 62 yards in the first half.

Facing heavy pressure, Chaminade's Jake Basmagian completed 3 of 9 for 33 yards in the first half, and he was sacked twice.

Kasdorf was 13 of 20 for 117 yards in the first half, as Notre Dame outgained the Eagles 272-126 through two quarters.
