HS FOOT: Poly's roll continues

| | Comments (0) |

After shaking off its only loss, a three-point defeat to Arleta three weeks ago, Poly of Sun Valley (6-1) continues to be a scoring machine, defeating Van Nuys 74-0 then trouncing Verdugo Hills 77-0 on Friday, to improve their scoring average of 52.5 points.

Kevin Ervin is Poly's top running back, and he rushed for 209 yards and six touchdowns in eight carries against Verdugo Hills. Ervin has yet to be held to fewer than 147 yards in a game, totaling 1,458 yards and 19 touchdowns in 103 carries -- an average of 14.2 yards per carry.

"It's hard to stop us. All I do is follow my blockers, and we get a lot of yards," Ervin said.
