HS FOOT: Bishop sets Valencia season TD record

| | Comments (0) |

Alex Bishop, a Valencia junior, has broken Michael Herrick's school single-season touchdown record of 33. Bishop has 36 after throwing for five touchdowns Friday in a 49-22 Northern victory at Buena of Ventura.

Herrick, now at Northern Arizona, was among several Valencia alums watching from the sideline Friday, along with Shane Vereen (Cal) and Kaelen Jakes (ex-Texas).

Top-seeded Valencia (12-0) plays host to fourth-seeded Moorpark (11-1) on Saturday, while the other top seeds, No. 2 St. Bonaventure and No. 3 Westlake, play Friday in the other semifinal.

"The top four seeds are in the semifinals. I guess that's why we're the top four seeds," Valencia coach Larry Muir said.
