HS FOOT: Burbank comes up short

| | Comments (0) |

Burbank was hoping to make it to the semifinals for the first time in the school's 100-year history, but it didn't happen after falling 24-21 at California of Whittier.

"We finished with three losses by a total of nine points, so these kids really battled and showed character," coach Hector Valencia said. "I'm happy with our accomplishments."

It was not a good night for the Pacific League, as Crescenta Valley was also eliminated.

-- Speaking of Crescenta Valley, quarterback Kyle Cota has been named Pacific League MVP. In the Serra League, the honor was shared by running back Kenny Boggs of Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks and quarterback Bryan Bennett of Crespi of Encino.
