HS FOOT: For City fans, this is the only game in town

| | Comments (0) |

Taft was the San Fernando Valley's only City Section remaining when the Toreadors lost 24-20 to Dorsey of L.A. on Wednesday, so now the Div. II semifinal between El Camino Real of Woodland Hills and host Arleta on Friday at 7 p.m. at Monroe High in North Hills deserves our full attention.

Defending champion Arleta (11-1) has won 26 in a row on the field (its only loss was a forfeit), while El Camino Real (11-1) has lost only to Taft and owns regular-season victories over Div. I playoff participants Sylmar and Birmingham of Lake Balboa.

"It's going to be a real good game," Arleta running back Omar Sanchez said. "It's going to be very competitive, and it's going to come down to who wants it more. We got a championship ring last year, but we want another ring really bad."
