HS FOOT: Harvard-Westlake QB out for tonight's playoff game

| | Comments (0) |

Max Heltzer, Harvard-Westlake's starting quarterback, is out for tonight's Northwest quarterfinal against top-seeded Oaks Christian because of a broken leg.

Heltzer, who has passed for 1,557 yards and 17 touchdowns, suffered a hairline fracture on the side of his leg near his knee last week in a first-round playoff victory over Centennial of Compton. He is on crutches.

Oliver Lowry is his replacement tonight against the visiting Lions, who have won six consecutive section titles and 32 games in a row..

"I'm a little disappointed. I'm just trying to help out in any way I can," Heltzer said.
