HS FOOT: O.C.'s Jones is on the run

Malcolm Jones loves scoring touchdowns, and the
adrenaline rush makes him want to do it over and over again.

The running back for Oaks Christian High has scored 95 touchdowns in
four years heading into a Tri-Valley League finale tonight at
Nordhoff of Ojai (8-1, 4-0), and it would be rather shocking if the
6-foot-1, 220-pound senior does not reach 100, considering the Lions
(9-0, 4-0) are favored to win another Northwest Division championship
and perhaps another CIF State Bowl.

"Once you break into the open field, you get that wave of
excitement," Jones said. "It's really fun to score touchdowns,
especially the long ones."

This season, Jones has rushed for 1,439 yards on 138 carries, and he
has scored 26 touchdowns. He rushed for 1,504 yards and scored 34
touchdowns as junior after totaling 2,025 yards and 29 touchdowns as
a sophomore, and 274 yards and six touchdowns as a freshman.
