HS FOOT: Some local notes

If you're in the mood for an early game Friday, check out the East
Valley League game between visiting Verdugo Hills (0-7, 0-4) and
high-scoring Arleta (7-1, 4-0). Kickoff is 2:15 p.m., and if the
contest is like most Arleta games, a running clock probably will be
used in the second half, so you can make it home before rush hour. ...

Hart's 56-7 loss Friday to Valencia was the most points allowed by a
Hart team since 1950. It was just the 10th time in Hart's 61-year
history the Indians have surrendered more than 50. ...

After a rocky start that at one point saw Paraclete of Lancaster lose three
nonleague games in a row while experimenting with three quarterbacks,
the defending Mid-Valley Division champion Spirits have recorded four
shutouts in a row. The last time Paraclete (6-3, 3-0) allowed a point
was Oct. 2 in a 28-7 loss to visiting Hart. Idle this week, Paraclete
finishes Nov. 13 at Cerritos Valley Christian.
