HS FOOT: Taft's Morgan has torn ACL and MCL, out for year

| | Comments (0) |

D.J. Morgan, an All-American running back for Taft who has committed to USC, is out for the season after an MRI revealed torn knee ligaments.

"He has a torn ACL and a partial tear of the meniscus. He's done for the football season this year," Taft coach Matt Kerstetter said.

Taft plays host to Dorsey on Wednesday in the City quarterfinals.

Morgan injured his knee Thursday in a first-round playoff victory over visiting Garfield of L.A. He has rushed for 1,450 yards and scored 23 touchdowns.

Surgery will be required, and that could jeopardize Morgan's track season. He is the reigning state champion in the hurdles.
