HS FOOT: Coach Ross out at Crespi
After failing to make the playoffs two years in a row, Crespi coach Jeremiah Ross has been forced out, resigning about an hour ago.
"It's best for Crespi that I move on," Ross said. "Crespi is a great place with great kids, and they've treated me well the past seven years."
Ranked among the state's top teams in the beginning of the season, Crespi finished 5-5.
Ross is 39-21 overall, including two league championships, one section championship and one section runner-up.

I guess that two 5-5 seasons in a row, combined with the LA Times reporting that 5 former Crespi coaches had a photo op reunion at the CIF-SS event this week was just too much to take.
Harry Welch, Tim Lins, Jim Benkert, Bill Redell and Troy Thomas all left Crespi, and are all in the CIF Finals of their respective divisions. Crespi didn't even make the grid.
Rumors are that Harry Welch would be leaving St. Margaret's in Orange County, and was being considered for the vacant Loyola job. NONSENSE.
He played as a Celt, coached the Celts, and should come home. He's a high caliber coach with a huge winning tradition. Crespi's players deserve to get him, Crespi's alumni deserve to get him, and Crespi's reputation as a football school needs Harry...unless of course, Bill Redell wants to come back, LOL.
Go Celts, go get a BIG TIME coach to straighten things out.
