HS FOOT: Oaks Christian's Smith out with broken foot

Oaks Christian of Westlake Village's football team has been coping without starting receiver Trey Smith, a junior who is out for the season after breaking his foot and undergoing surgery last week.

"Trey was jumping to catch a pass in practice right before the first playoff game, and he came down wrong," coach Bill Redell said.

Smith, a junior who is the son of top Hollywood actor Will Smith, had 23 receptions and two touchdowns. He has been replaced in the lineup by Brett Medders.
