Baseball: Montclair Prep improves to 7-2

The Montclair Prep of Van Nuys baseball team came back from a two run deficit in the bottom of the sixth Thursday to post a 9-7 Olympic League victory against Los Angeles Baptist of North Hills

Trailing 7-5, junior Max Miller led off the bottom of the sixth with a double to right center.

Freshman Nick Suniga singled to center and Senior Tony Rosales walked.

Up to the plate stepped sophomore Max Fried, who belted a double down the line to put the Mounties ahead.

This was the first lead for the Mounties in the game as they trailed LAB 7-0 after four innings.

In the top of the third, MCP Freshman Nick Suniga came in and pitched masterfully to earn his first win of his high school career (4 IP, 3 H, 6 K's, 2 ER).

In the bottom of the seventh, with one runner on, freshman Ben McKendall came in to earn the save (1 IP, 0 H, 1 K, 0 ER).

Tony Rosales and Blake Steele each reached base three times.

Max Fried singled, doubled and had three RBI.

Montclair Prep (7-2, 3-0)
Los Angeles Baptist (3-5, 0-4)
