HS HOOPS: Montclair Prep in big hole entering fourth quarter

Montclair Prep of Panorama City trails St. Anthony of Long Beach 38-25 after three quarters at the Southern Section Div. V-A girls' basketball championship game at Mater Dei High's Meruelo Athletic Center in Santa Ana.

The Mounties closed to within 28-22 with 5:04 remaining in the third on a basket by Kim Scamman, but St. Anthony limited Montclair Prep to one field goal the rest of the quarter.

Kim Scamman has 10 points and Chantel Dooley has nine for Montclair Prep, which is seeking its first championship since winning the Div. V-AA title in 2001.
