CONEJO OAKS WIN IN EXTRA INNINGS OVER SANTA MARIA PACKERS

Santa Maria, Calif. - The Conejo Oaks Collegiate baseball team, (5-6, 3-5) went extra innings again Sunday afternoon, June 13, at Elks field in Santa Maria, this time defeating the Santa Maria Packers 6-4 in 10 innings. Five of the Oaks last eight games have gone extra innings.

With two out in the top of the tenth, David Casey and Kenny Hatcher singled putting runners at first and second. Harper White hit a ground ball up the middle that the Packer shortstop couldn't handle, Casey hustling around third scored the go ahead run. Lance Roenicke then singled home Hatcher. Spencer Trygg (1-0) picked up the win, throwing 3 2/3 shutout innings, allowing only two hits. Oaks starter Cody Thomsom pitched 6 innings, allowing all four Packer runs in the 4th inning.

Jacob Fiss singled home White, who was pinch running for Seth Dolar after he singled for the third time in the game, with the tying run in the top of the ninth for the Oaks.

Ryon Healy, Chris Hannick, Casey, Matt Scioscia all had two hits for Conejo.

Packer third baseman James Brooks had 4 doubles to lead the Packer offense.

The Oaks travel to San Luis Obispo to play the San Luis Obispo Blues Tuesday June 15 in a 7:05 game at Sinsheimer Park.
