Mario Trutanic has been named girls' basketball coach at Oaks Christian of Westlake Village.

Trutanic was an asst. coach at Santa Monica City College and has also been an asst. at San Francisco St. and Long Beach St.

Trutanic coached high school girls at South Torrance as well.

He inherits a team that reached the Div. IV-A semifinals losing to eventual champion St. Joseph of Santa Maria.

Oaks Christian returns senior forward Crystal Owusu, senior guard Shahara Ali-Speakes, junior point guard Brianna Barrett, junior guard Nicole McAmis sophomores Megan McIntyre, Beth Mounier and Ayzhia Aupiu and should be bolstered by newcomer Nicole Packard, who sat out last season after transferring from Thousand Oaks.
