Football: Menifield, Brooks and Stewart looks good in Sierra Canyon win

Sophomore running back Xavier Menifield made his debut at Sierra Canyon a memorable one by rushing for 134 yards on only five carries, including touchdowns of 50 and 45 yards to lead the Trailblazers in a 55-7 victory against Webb at Granada Hills High.

Tyler Stewart completed 8 of 11 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns.

Stewart connected with Shane Harrison (five receptions, 152 yards) on a 91-yard scoring strike in the first quarter and found Harrison again in the third quarter for a short 3-yard score.

Junior receiver Julian Brooks had a big night with a two interceptions and a 30-yard touchdown recpetion.

Brooks returned one of his interceptions 68 yards for a score in the second quarter.

Danny Jordan capped the evening with an 84-yard interception return to end the game.

Caleb Nickels led the defense as the Trailblazers stopped Webb 10 times behind the line of scrimmage.
