HS FOOT: It's a big game tonight between Notre Dame and host Valencia

| | Comments (0) |

Two of the area's most successful programs go head to head in just a few minutes, as Valencia and visiting Notre Dame are set to tee off at 7 p.m. in a nonleague showdown.

Notre Dame has the advantage of having already played a game, albeit a 34-7 loss to state power Serra of Gardena, and history is also on Notre Dame's side, as the Knights have won 14 in a row against Foothill League competition, including four successive victories over Valencia.

But there's a big X factor for Valencia, and that's the presence of returning standouts Alex Bishop at quarterback and Steven Manfro at running back; they're two of the state's most productive players.

I'll update when I can.
