Girls' volleyball: Oaks Christian takes out No. 1 La Canada in Div. II-AA

| | Comments (0) |

The Oaks Christian girls' volleyball team is riding high tonight after a five-game victory against top-seeded La Canada in a Div. II-AA quarterfinal playoff match at La Canada.

The Lions are into the semifinals on Tuesday, possibly against No. 4 seed Chino Hills.

Oaks Christian won in dramatic fashion, which is nothing new to the Lions.

They are 5-1 in five game matches this season, having beaten Camarillo, Brentwood, La Reina, Mission Viejo and now, La Canada.

"I don't know how to explain it," senior middle blocker Michele Boskovich said.

The Lions (23-11) have been on a roll as of late, playing well at the Redondo Union tournament, upending La Reina near the end of the regular season and taking down North Torrance, Mission Viejo and defending champion La Canada in the playoffs.

"I realy think all our seniors and experience are starting to come through," coach George Hees said. "It has been a rollercoaster of a year."
