HS BASE: Ex-Valencia Lopes standout commits to USC

Christian Lopes, a former Valencia standout now a senior at Edison in Huntington Beach, has committed to USC.

Lopes, a shortstop, hit 25 home runs in two seasons with Valencia, including 15 as a sophomore in 2008.
