HS FOOT: Canyon, in midst of turnaround, has a tough quarterfinal

| | Comments (0) |

After winning just two games last year, Canyon is 10-1 after defeating Palmdale 24-13 in the Northern playoff opener Friday, but if the Cowboys want to keep going, they'll have to figure out a way to get past second-seeded St. Bonaventure in the quarterfinals Friday in Ventura.

Canyon's Jonathan Jerozal has passed for 29 touchdowns, but he has seen few opponents that play defense like St. Bonaventure, led by oversized linebackers Jalen Jefferson and Cody Kurz and elite defensive back Tanner Souza.
