HS FOOT: Hart fighting to make playoffs for 22nd year in row

| | Comments (0) |

With two Foothill League games remaining, Hart is in danger of not making the playoffs for the first time in coach Mike Herrington's 22-year career.

A loss to Canyon on Friday would all but eliminate Hart (5-3, 1-2) from finishing in the top three, and that's what it takes to qualify for the Northern Division playoffs.

Herrington has never lost to a Canyon team not coached by Harry Welch.

Hart is tied with West Ranch (4-4, 1-3) for fourth, and they play each other in the finale on Nov. 11. But if both lose Friday - West Ranch plays Saugus (5-3, 2-1) - then they're both out, and Valencia (7-1, 3-0), Canyon (6-1, 2-1) and Saugus will be in no matter what.
