Womens college basketball: Pierce continues hot streak

The Pierce College womens basketball team improved to 6-0 and advanced to the championship game of its own tournament with a 82-57 victory against L.A. Southwest.

The Brahmas will face Barstow at 3:30 p.m.

Taft graduates Danielle Tyler and Amari Hampton had 22 points and 21 points, respectively to lead the Brahmas.

Tyler drained five 3-pointers.

Monica Jackson contributed 15 points for Pierce.

Pierce will be heavy favorites after thrashing Barstow, 98-70 in the championship of the Barstow tournament Nov. 20.
