Boys' basketball: Alemany bounces back strong

| | Comments (0) |

The Alemany boys' basketball team responded in grand fashion on the final day of the Oaks Christian tournament with an impressive 59-55 seventh place victory against state juggernaut Price.

Jordan Fuller scored 20 points, Marqueze Coleman had 13 and three other players each had eight as the Warriors survived multiple rally attempts from the Knights (9-5).

Alemany helped itself by going nine of 16 at the free throw line in the fourth quarter after only attempting one in the first 24 minutes.

"It was a great win for us," Alemany coach Tray Meeks said. "It will help us and the whole tournament was good for us going into (Mission) league next week."

Colorado-bound Askia Booker had 16 points for Price and 6'10 St. John's-commit Norvel Pelle had 11.

Price surprisingly went 1-3 in the tournament and is struggling to find consistency early in the season.

Pelle was ejected Monday and had to miss the quarterfinal game against Sacramento.
