Boys' basketball: Sierra Canyon into championship game at Torrey Pines

Sierra Canyon advanced to the championship game of the Mayor's division at the Torrey Pines after an impressive 76-56 victory against Fallbrook High.

The Trailblazers (10-2) were down 19-14 after one quarter but took a 37-28 lead by halftime and then ran away with the win.

Jahmel Taylor had 20 points, freshman Marsalis Johnson had 17 and freshman Bryan Alberts had 12 points and six assists.

Julian Brooks sprained his ankle and his status is up in the air for Thursdays championship game against Westview at 8:40 p.m.
