Boys' basketball: Sylmar off to tough start

| | Comments (0) |

It hasn't been pretty for the Sylmar boys' basketball team so far.

The Spartans lost all five of their games at the Mission Prep tournament this week to fall to 1-9 on the season.

Sylmar went 1-3 at the Pasadena tournament three weeks ago, the only win coming against San Fernando.

Alex Moreno is having a great season though.

On Monday, Moreno had 29 points in a 101-73 setback against Campbell Hall and 26 against Mission Prep in a second game.

Sylmar will look to get back on track with a Thursday home game against Oaks Christian at 7 p.m. but the Lions have their football players back and will be hungry after losing three games at the Moorpark tournament two weeks ago.
