College basketball: Pierce women beat Barstow

The Pierce College womens basketball team picked up its second victory in three tries against Barstow Thursday in a first round game at the Cuesta tournament.

Pierce won, 66-63.

Monica Jackson scored 27 points and Danielle Tyler had 21.

Pierce beat Barstow, 98-70 on Nov. 20 in the championship of the Barstow tournament but then dropped a 62-61 decision on No. 27 in the finals of the Pierce tournament.
