GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Chatsworth prevails in West Coast Jamboree opener

| | Comments (0) |

Although the name of the tournament might look similar, the Chatsworth girls' basketball team is not competing this season in the West Coast Holiday Festival at Burroughs and Beverly Hills like it did last season, instead traveling north to play in Antioch at the West Coast Jamboree.

Behind 15 points, 12 rebounds, eight steals and five assists from Portland-bound guard Jasmine Wooton, the Chancellors got off to a strong start Monday night in the gold division with a 61-48 victory over Clovis (7-3).

Thomesha Smith added 12 points and 12 rebounds for Chatsworth (5-6), which plays Terra Nova at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the second round. Teaira Owens contributed six points, seven rebounds and four steals for the Chancellors, who received seven points from Maiden Garcia.
