HS FOOT: Alemany down 21-7 to Servite at half

| | Comments (0) |

Things are not looking good for Alemany in a Pac 5 semifinal against Servite, as the Warriors trail 21-7 at halftime.

With Servite nursing a 14-7 lead and Alemany driving late in the second quarter, Vernon Adams found Mike Hernandez open in the back of the end zone for what looked like a 12-yard touchdown, but Hernandez could not hold on.

On the next play, Martin Meza's 30-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Jordan Jones, and Servite scored three plays later to forge a 21-7 lead with 29 seconds remaining in the half.

Alemany looked sharp on its opening possession, driving 80 yards on six plays with Cameron Washington scoring on a 1-yard run. Adams completed two passes for 59 yards and also had a 20-yard run.

But the Warriors were not heard from again for the rest of the first half, going three-and-out on the next two possessions, followed by the dropped pass in the end zone.

In the first half, Adams completed 6 of 10 passes for 104 yards, and he rushed for 72 yards on 11 carries.
