HS FOOT: Alemany faces Servite in battle of unbeatens

| | Comments (0) |

I must really be anticipating tonight's Pac-5 semifinal between Alemany and Servite at Cerritos College because even though there was a huge traffic jam I still arrived two hours before kickoff.

A couple of hours earlier and I might have even beaten a certain ex-Daily News reporter.

What makes tonight's showdown so intriguing is neither has lost a single game. Alemany is 12-0 and Servite is 12-0, and the winner faces 13-0 Mission Viejo in the championship game next Saturday at Angel Stadium.

The key for Alemany is quarterback Vernon Adams. He has passed for 2,610 yards and 25 touchdowns, and he has rushed for 742 and 14 touchdowns, so when the ball in his hands something good usually happens.

Servite has won 23 in a row. The last San Fernando Valley opponent to defeat the Friars was Notre Dame in 2008.
