HS HOOPS: Taft looks to get back on track

| | Comments (0) |

After winning its first eight games, powerful Taft has lost two in a row heading into Today's late tournament game in San Diego, as the Toreadors have committed 66 turnovers over the past three games, including 26 on Wednesday in a loss to Corona Centennial.

"Even when we won by 30 three games ago, we had 22 turnovers," coach Derrick Taylor said. "We're just careless with the ball. We've got to value the basketball."

The good news is junior Brandon Perry, a 6-6, 245-pound forward, is finally healthy after a high-ankle sprain followed by a bout with the flu has kept him out of action for all but five games.

"He's playing pretty well. He's a big part of our plans," Taylor said.
