Girls' basketball: Bell-Jeff wins again

| | Comments (0) |

Jasmine Smith scored 21 points, including 12 in the first half to help the Guards in a nonleague victory at the Oaks Christian showcase.

Smith helped Bell-Jeff take a seven point-lead at hlaftime it would not relinquish after a 20-13 spurt in the third quarter.

The Guards suffered a humbling setback against Santa Clara Jan. 8 and a five-point loss against Harvard-Westlake but have come back for victories against St. Genevieve and the Lions, who figure to be City Section championship contenders.

Fairfax received 19 points from D. Haley and 15 points each from A. McDaniel and John'ea Thompson but the trio was not enough to overcome the balance of Bell-Jeff.
