HS HOOPS: This league is like Mission impossible

| | Comments (0) |

How competitive is the Mission League? Just look at the Southern Section rankings: Loyola is No. 1 in Div. I-A; Crespi is No. I and Harvard-Westlake is No. 2 in Div. III-A; and Alemany is No. 4 in Div. IV-AA.

That might explain why Chaminade, No. 7 in Div. IV-AA, is 0-3 in the Mission League but 11-3 against everyone else, having lost to Harvard-Westlake, Loyola and Alemany.

"Those are three of the better teams," Chaminade coach Todd Wolfson said. "We struggled against Loyola, but we had Harvard-Westlake down by four or five in the fourth quarter, and they just pulled away at the end. We're so young, and we made some mistakes. I think our youth kind of caught up with us a little bit, but these are quality teams. We're fighting and playing hard."
