Boys' basketball: Simi Valley is unbelieveable

| | Comments (0) |

I feel bad for teams that might have to play Simi Valley in the playoffs in the next couple weeks.

The Pioneers pulled off more magic Tuesday in a 55-53 Marmonte League victory against host Agoura.

George Washington-bound forward Jonathan Davis went the length of the floor in 3.6 seconds and banked in a 15-footer for the winning points.

The victory improved Simi Valley to 19-6 and 11-2. The Pioneers need only to beat crosstown-rival Royal Thursday to claim the league championship outright.

The victory was the eighth in 11 league wins by four points or less.

Simi Valley defeated Calabasas and Agoura two times each by two points, beat Westlake by two and by three points and knocked off Moorpark and Thousand Oaks by four points one time.

The mark of a good team and good coach is winning close games and the Pioneers have certainly done that this season.
