HS HOOPS: Abrams still cashing in at Montclair Prep

| | Comments (0) |

Thirty-four years ago, Howard Abrams was in his first year as head coach of Montclair Prep, guiding the Mounties to a 47-43 win over Huntington Valley Christian back in 1977 at Long Beach Arena for the school's first basketball championship.

Abrams is still at the Van Nuys campus as an assistant, and Montclair Prep continues to be one of the area's most successful programs heading into a Div. V-A semifinal Friday against St. Bernard at St. Genevieve High.

The Mounties have won four section titles and three times have finished as a runner-up. They''ve won one state title and finished as a state runner-up once.
